New In Town / Frequently Asked Questions

Welcome to Del Dios! Here are answers to some common questions from new residents and property owners.

I just bought a house in Del Dios. How do I get water service turned on?

If you bought a house or lot with a DDMWC water meter on it, contact the Del Dios Mutual Water Company to start your water service and obtain your share certificate.

I'm considering buying a lot in Del Dios to build a new house on. How do I get a water connection?

If you are thinking about buying a lot or house in town, or if you're thinking of building, check first to make sure there is a water share and meter appurtenant to the lot.

Important: DDMWC does not issue new water shares for new builds on lots which currently do not have a water share or meter allocated to it.

For more information on how to find out whether a particular Del Dios lot has a water share, please contact Rich Foster at r.foster@deldioswater.org or 760-580-5805.

Where does the Del Dios Mutual Water Company get its water from?

Del Dios does not source water from Lake Hodges, the Colorado River, the San Joaquin River Delta, the San Diego or Los Angeles Metropolitan water systems, or any other third-party supplier.

We obtain our own fresh, clear water from wells deep in the granite below us, as we have for generations.
